Having a solid plan and knowing what steps you need to take to provide for your family and have a future is probably the most important thing you can do right now.

Well, technically if you're still drinking you're not exactly sober, but I get your drift. I suppose it's a pretty simple answer in regards to why people use drugs though. It is an escape from reality, I would wager that it's a very similar reasoning as to why people play video games or read books or watch movies y'know? It's more interesting than sitting there in the same state of mind that you're in everyday. It gives you new perspective I guess. Not to mention it's fun. But I understand man. You should do everything in your power to be with your wife and son. Don't listen to me.
