No, but I have reasons why(though experts may call these "excuses"). First, I am struggling just to keep the lights on and food on the table so you can imagine how the bills overpower my ability to give a rat's ass about contributing to the welfare of rich video game companies to make modern pieces of crap that mostly sucks for various indisclosed reasons. Second, I play a lot of older games which are not sold in stores anywhere and haven't been made long enough to consider them abandonware, unless i'm mistaken.

Most of these companies have for one reason or another moved on to different projects or are no longer holding any real legal grip on the game, aren't trying to sell it in any store I can find, so I don't see it as a bad thing to download to obtain. Even if the FBI knocked on my door and seized my pc, honestly I doubt they'd care about anything on it. There are some modern titles I wouldn't mind trying, but I like getting into systems once they become outdated. If I do have to pay for the games or console itself, it's mostly really affordable, and if I can't afford it- the technology likely exists to emulate it by that time.

It's not a glitch or a softmod. Let me explain it:

    1. Buy content
    2. Share the profile that bought the content on the internet

Exactly. There isn't anything new here, just people weren't sharing profiles on piracy sites before last year...

    This.

Never ever felt guilty about it.

But I've felt guilty about actually buying some games in the past.

Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!

Have I ever felt guilty about dling game? Not really. Games are overpriced where I'm from, I mean RIDICULOUSLY overpriced.

You guy thought $60 was pricey for SC2? It cost me 210. I got Shadow of Chernobly for 39.90. Original. Original games in my country generally cost between 70 - 210; averages around 180.

I also do not have the cash to get multiple systems like you guys(Gee....$599 for a PS3? Try 1399) hence emulation is money- and time-saving.

3rdly, old games, especially those from older systems.

And yeah, when I first modded my PS2 I went into a rampage of downloading every ISO out there I could find. Some of those were terrible games and some were gems that I didn't know that even existed (Digital Devil Saga <3333), so uh huh, no guilt in there.

Pretty much always, because the games I really like I buy, and the ones that I'm not that interested in or just curious about, I download.

Hey I'm a Catholic, back to the subject we would not need to download games if the big companies like Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Sega peproduced there old games then we would not have to do it.

Can I say I never bought an original game? I started with a Master System, all my cartridges were pirated. Then, my father bought a NES, same thing as before. Then a SNES, Polistation (does this system exist in other countries than mine?), and last console, a Playstation. Games for the last one, are around $2,50 (pirated). Last I got is a PC (old) but it runs most emulator and games until 2006 (and The Sims 3). The only game I have ever got original (a gift) was FIFA 08. I don't feel guilty at all, for all the games I downloaded or all that I bought ilegally. If I could, I would buy some original games, just to not overload my HD, and not be searching for tools to make the game run. But, at the prices games are in my country, I better continue downloading.

I'll occasionally feel guilty for downloading stuff, but in my case I normally wouldn't even fork over the cash to buy it to begin with. That doesn't justify it, but it's the truth. Like someone else mentioned though, pirating a genuinely good game from a small developer or a developer you support (Say something like Minecraft or a game that was localized) makes me feel incredibly guilty, as indie games don't have huge corporations backing their development and bad sales of localized games might prevent further games from coming over, which is no good. That's why I purchased Minecraft, it's loads of fun and I felt confident that it was worth more than it's price, and deserved to be paid for. And thankfully piracy allowed me to realize that before I made the decision to purchase it. I'll generally pirate most games and not feel any remorse over it though. Music, on the other hand, is something I feel incredibly guilty about pirating. Especially considering the state of the music industry right now. It's not the record labels I care about, as they're just as much to blame as piracy imo, but rather the individual artists who get hurt by it.

    mmmm....Never felt guilty...

Do the companies feel guilty when they overprice their products?

Anyway, the only things I ever downloaded were games for PC... I started downloading the ROMs for the PS2 from Ep....but goddamit, so many parts to download...dont have much patience in doing it.... I'd rather buy an original copy for the ps2 than download it...
