Doesn't apply to me, I suppose. I completely freaked out at the prospect of Mass Effect 2, since 1 was so awesome. Same goes for ME3. I got goosebumps just watching the trailer.

I already rose from the ashes, fell in love, saved the world in a dramatic fashion, etc. as the Warden in Dragon Age: Origins. It might have been completely cliched, but it was written well and I was fond of the story. Dragon Age II features some random character, who becomes the Champion of Kirkwall. The champion of a single city is less impressive than a Warden Commander who just saved all of Thedas from a Blight almost single handedly.

I've read that there's no clear antagonist until close to the end of the game, and that the main quests aren't very well connected by an underlying story arc. Kirkwall apparently feels very limited, and though there weren't exactly a huge variety of places to go in the original game, the idea of being confined to ten or so locations in one city sounds rather bland. Like I said, I haven't played it for myself (and I still plan to), but it very much sounds like a long series of side quests lumped into one game. Which is to be expected I suppose, since it's not a direct sequel to the events in the first game.

I did start playing DA:O as a mage either yesterday or the day before, however.
