Although it has already been said numerous times. I just want to send my condolences to all those in The States and anyone and everyone who lost anything in the 9-11 attack. I think the media and government is just making the 9/11 incident a bigger problem than it is. They were considering making it a holiday? Ridiculous. Bin Laden bombed those buildings a couple years back, we had a chance to arrest him but we let him go and then he does another act of terrorism.

Yes, it is a horrible tradegy and I feel for the victoms that loss their family to what happened, but 9/11 has caused heightened security throughout the country. We're bombing the hell out of Afghan but yet we have not caught Bin Laden or completely destroyed the groups that help him, so what is the point?

The news said that a government official reported Bin Laden being dead, then more news a couple days later say that they are still looking for him, and then the government official, who reported that he was dead, suddenly quits his position, whats that about? Are we just bombing a country in retaliation for attacking us, not really going after anybody?

To me, it's another terrorist attack just like the others, but this one he actually killed thousands of people, which makes it more memorable to us all. No one in america can say that they are not effected, and to those that say they don't care? They're critisized for being stuck-up little bitches with no sense of honor to their country, which really looks like 9/11 is forcing us to be more helpful and kind to everyone in America as one day we might just get bombed to death out of nowhere with chemical war fare in a counter attack for bombing them.

i think even if america did kill bin laden, they wouldnt tell anyone, because that would elevate him to martyrdom, and a martyr can be very powerful, even more so than the man himself when he was alive. so if noone really knows what happens to him, thatd probably be best overall

Being in Canada, the 9-11 attacks didn't attack me AS much as those in America, although I do sympathize for all those who suffered, whether it be the families, firefighters, police officers, whomever.

In response to the original question of where were you when you found out:-

I found out just after I got to school. It was everywhere. Everyone was talking about it. Then the second plane hit, and one of the guys that helped out at and around our school was on it.

They affected everyone, I can easily agree to that. However, the way we're responding to it, I can't agree to. We're bombing the Hell out of a place that didn't have anything to do with it, where we should be sending numerous ground forces through the country in search of them, without the bombing part. That'd be the most effective. He can hide forever from bombs, but he can't leave AF without someone noticing him. He's trapped in there, it's just a matter of getting him out.

Now, I didn't read through this entire thread (I am doing other things), so sorry if I'm repeating something that was already said.

I think that revenge won't go anywhere with 9 11.
If you bomb them most likely they will do what they do again and the vicious cycle will just continue. Sure it will make you feel better but will you feel as good when another plane hits another building?

just the idea of having retaliated makes everyone feel good. it makes the country think we're actually doing something to combat terrorism, but in reality, it's not doing anything.
