I played Arkham:asylum recently and quite liked it, although I didn't play much but the first fight with scarecrow was great.

I never tried Batman except for a demo, it seemed rather monotonous to me. But not the good kind like GoW, just plain monotony.

It's good, but grr it's annoying. You really have to master when to counter and when to dive the fuck out of an enemy's way.

I just got it down to 1/2 more hits and got killed like 3 times, so I've rage quit for now.

It's pretty awesome if you like stealth games, actually. There's quite a bit of potential for stealthing your way around situations and such.
Of course if you hate stealth games, it'd probably get monotonous pretty fast, yeah.

I found in most situations, you could silently take down most opponents.. And in forced-brawls, you were usually punished for just mashing buttons blindly. I dunno, I actually found melee combat to flow really smoothly if I paid close enough attention to what I was doing.
