I don't think defragging will cause you to lose data... it shouldn't anyway...
NTFS is better because it uses larger cluster size which ensures better data integrity and faster disk access, plus, linux doesn't recognize it easily :sunglasse
how would you test if your physical memory is okay , not burned , etc?
Haha, this is the sixth time in the last twenty minutes that I've tried getting my computer to actually turn on and then survive to the point where I can access EP and reply in this topic. Win xp is obviously going to take a while over 56k, so for now I'm just going to have to deal with it. The latest glitch I've noticed showed up on the fifth attempt at getting online, if I use the scroll button on my mouse, instead of scrolling down the page it selects my text size. Also, when I clicked anywhere with my left mouse button, it selected the entire line of text it was on. And finally, when I tried to type a reply in this thread, I typed but words didn't appear. I don't think it's possible to get the computer working with at least one glitch acting up, and right now I don't have a toolbar. Thank God for alt+tab.
YAY!
Oh yeah, and clicking on any hyperlinks freezes the computer. FUN!
for some of those probs it just sounds like your ctrl key is down. in IE the ctrl+scroll changes text size, and ctrl+left click on text selects the paragraph.
dunno bout the others though .. how much longer for xp??![]()
It didn't select paragraphs - it selected sentences.
But yea, hopefully kazaa will speed up, last I checked it was going to take 132 hours.
I know someone with WinXP Home edition and in IE, text typed itself!? If you placed a cursor in a textbox to type in a password for email, for instance, the cursor would move and characters would type themselves. This isn't a one time thing. Is this a glitch or was XP somehow programmed to do this?
