The Last Remnant. Very ambitous game that SquareEnix released under budget. If they put in the time and money on this new IP, it could easily bring JRPG's back in competition with western ones.
And yes the title says Last Remnant. YOu can just call it the Lost Remnant.
Square does not have a proplem putting Final in a 20 year long running series.
Practice does not make perfect, it makes permanent.

Well, Mine isn't a game it's a character. well, two characters actually. Geno and Mallow from Super Mario RPG. They deserve another appearance in the SMRPG/Paper Mario series. As long as Square Enix is run by asshats I guess that'll never happen

Licensing isn't such an easy thing, and Square-Enix would have to know that having those two specific characters make an appearance would be profitable enough to make the licensing schlep worth the money, which it probably wouldn't be.

On the same subject, I would like a sequel to SMRPG. Paper Mario doesn't even count, they dumbed down the combat to the limit, added that paper gimmick, etc. Even the new PM on Wii has another gimmick of adding 3D to 2D. The combat isn't even turn based anymore.

They could seriously just re-use the same system, add new characters/plot with standard Nintendo Mario graphics and it would be amazing.

ever heard of mario & luigi for gba/ds? can't think of anything that could be more of a spiritual successor to smrpg than those games.

Iunno, I didn't feel like Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story had the same feel as Super Mario RPG. It's a decent game, but doesn't feel as involving as SMRPG was, and I don't have any particular love for the storyline.

Parasite Eve II for PS1 exists already, and The 3rd Birthday (PE3) is coming out for PSP in March.

Rocket Knight just got a remake last year

Psychonauts, because it was the best game that no one played.
Xenosaga, sure it ended but Goddamn that series was awesome. If they could release another one as good as the first I'd be sold.
Tonic Trouble, a wacky fun 3D Ubisoft game that starred a purple alien attempting to fix a mess he made. It would be cool if Ubisoft went back to this N64 title and turned it into a Spyro-type series.
Stolen, a PS2 stealth game that got really low ratings but in turn wasn't that bad. I for one had lot's of fun with it, the ending opened up room for a sequel.
Vexx, an awesome adventure platformer created by Acclaim. Also got really low ratings, but the game was interesting enough.

Pretty much all I can think of.

Geno is one of the best characters Nintendo has created, but they never brought him back to another game, I loved his character and Mallow. ):

You know that the first PE game was a sequel to the book, not an adaptation, right?

as far as xenosaga goes there is a good reson as to why threre's not a 4th game well technically there is. see when square made xenogears for ps1 it was rushed & the dev. team didn't like the way it turned out so they left square & went to namco. namco said yes you can make the game you had originally visioned. here's were things get a little dicey. the dev team for the xenoserises (ie xenogears & xenosaga) wanted to create this masive story. so they put the games story into "epasodes" now after making xenosaga III they wanted to do the fourth game so namco or at least the dev. team went to square to ask for them to hand over the rights for xenogears to namco. square refused. xenogears was planed to xenogears was slated for the fourth game already even when they were still working on xenosaga I
