Take it apart and clean it with a q-tip dampened with rubbing alcohol. Unlike PS2 controllers, the 360 controller will work fine after taking it apart and reassembling.

Quite alright, I only realized how gigantic a paragraph I typed after it was done, but felt that deleting parts of it would be detrimental to it's content.
