Where would the best place be to start a new site for free??? I already have a place I can upload to (with as much space as I need) I just need somewhere that has a few good options to start a site...

I started mine at Tripod but I did a little HTML for my website.
The only problem is it's only 20 MB storage limit, which is enough for the website.

Geocities is easier for dummies like me to use. No HTML at all.

I'm not sure if they're accepting new members, but CDIWeb.us is very good. You need to know HTML, though.

That's what they offer (taken right from their site. Ooo...). I love it, it's where I host my site. They have one pop up. It's kinda cool, too. It's a "Stop Popups!" popup, directing you to a popup-killer program.

That and Crosswinds are good. Unlimited space, but a popup and no FTP access.

Want an easy way to make a website? Then you should use Dreamweaver or some other WYSIWYG editor (WYSIWYG means that you drag and drop) I know that you'll need to learn a new prog, but Dreamweaver actually help you thru every beginner stage. And you don't have to do anything with HTML except inserting java-scripts and such, but that's just a copy paste thingy.
But www.freeservers.com is also a good place to host your site... they place a top banner, but you can actually control that mostly so you can keep it on one page only (use frames).

    http://www.clickherefree.com/Free_We..._Directory.htm

Here you can search for any kind of webhost with all kinds of extra features. I check it regularly mostly to have answers for those that ask

I'm sure you can find one here with big file size limit, but I can keep an eye out for some.
