You wouldn't be a coward, you would be smart. Why the hell should the government have the right to send people to kill others and possibly lose their life for something they might not even agree with? You can be sure the government officials and their families won't be on that list of draftees either.
That's the thing I'm relying on, should the forced enlistment happens, the remaining military will go medieval on the President, overthrow him, and then they'll pact a cease fire with the drug-gangs. Then they'll relinquish the government to some poor bastard that gets elected. The military is smart enough that nobody wants to run this country.

Because you know, they're not exactly comfortable getting shot as well.

Except there's the part where I'm pretty sure he signed up.

Sorry I didn't decide to put myself in a situation where people would be trying to kill me, Grandpa. At least you got to fly helicopters and blow stuff up?

My family has a history of having children when they are rather young. I don't know how old my maternal grandparents were when my mother was born, but I'm older now than both of my parents and both of my paternal grandparents were when they had their first kids.

And I don't plan on having any in this lifetime.

Good thing you're not French. Because that would be a free joke.

    Will keep that in mind.

It's so terrible. The only people I see, aside from my boyfriend and family, with any kind of frequency in any kind of social interaction, are mostly old ladies who think video games are like a cancer. "Bu--but it's so funny! His name is Cloud. You just don't understand."

I couldn't even come home and explain it to my boyfriend and have him understand the full significance.

    I felt so soulless. ;___;
I suggest keep tracking on him, his life is gonna be a fun to watch trainwreck.

...what? Of all people that you know, I figured your boyfriend would know what you were talking about.

Oh, he didn't get in there because of the draft?

I suppose he was getting bored at his work and he thought he needed a bit of spice on his life. All of it while blasting to Fortunate Son.

    I definitely should.

You mean my boyfriend that doesn't play video games? He understood that the kid was named after a game character, but not the deep significance of being named after that particular character.

I wonder if his parents have started any FF7 threads here. I should add "Milady" to my ID badge and see if I get any reactions.

In the kid's defense, at least Strife wasn't his last name. He can keep his middle name a secret until high school graduation if he tries really hard.

Then people will just think he has weird hippie parents who like clouds.

It's the same with my family. They just don't STOP when they're young. And that's how I got here. With parents in their mid 50's.

Also, on the subject of the "Cloud Strife" name, it's not so bad. You can always pretend your parents were hippies. Or come up with your own nickname. "Just call me Chris."

Which reminds me, you know that kid I talked about who asked if I wanted to smoke with him? He introduced himself as Sunshine. No joke.

What? I didn't tell you that story? Hospitals, what interesting places. I thought I'd heard everything after my psychiatric rotation. Cloud Strife begs to differ.

I thought he did. My bad.

Do it, then they'll give you PSP games for you to upload and index. Pronto.

I dug out an old recording of an incomplete run of Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon.

Unless you're not really bothered at the bad sound mix it, I could link it in here, but that won't give my 'Painkiller' back.
