Also free online and a far lower failure rate![]()
If you're having to ask this you may as well just go for whichever one you can get cheaper, unless you specifically want Blu-Ray and free online. You've got exclusives such as Demon's Souls and Uncharted on the PS3 versus the likes of Gears of War and Forza on the 360, but generally speaking I don't think there's ever been two consoles with as homogenous a software lineup.
Hey, Cos, you have a PS3, right? Did you ever add me? If not, mind doing so (checked the thread, but didn't see an ID for you, else I'd have sent the request)?
I can agree that Resistance 2 and MAG weren't all that fun (R2 good for one playthrough). The first Uncharted definitely isn't as fun as the second, but I still enjoyed it (granted not enough tolike I did the second), and I can't say anything about GoW III since I've yet to play.
I enjoyed MGS4 and SO though![]()
I'm waiting around for an experience modifier before I finish SO4.
It's not even especially great at that. It's probably the worst example of a huge step backwards a franchise has taken in recent memory.
It's fun, yes, but it also suffers from not being very good. At all. And being just another cover shooter that only has one defining trait: being pretty.
GoWIII came out long after most people stopped giving a shit. Also, all weapons are just variants of the basic chains. After the impressive and interesting arsenal 2 threw at you, you'd think they'd put in effort. Nope. Also, overuse of gratuitous boss fights.
MGS4 is complete proof that kojima stopped giving a shit about the series. No codec saves? Bare minimum humor? Product placement everywhere? Fanboy pandering? NANOMACHINES? How can anyone like this. Even the guy who wrote it calls it a steaming pile, come on.
SO's terribadness is well documented. ALL MUST KNOW.
Metal Gear Solid stopped making sense to me around MGS3.
I'm outta here to test some new codes in Trinity Universe, bye all.
Yeah, I guess it depends what you're using it for really. You guys do the gameshare thing so I can see why it works out cheaper in your case. I find XBLA is slightly cheaper than PSN over here, and with the amount of stuff I've bought on sale that £35 I spent on fourteen months of Gold back in September has already paid for itself. Plus shit tends to come out sooner on XBLA here. Castle Crashers and SF2HD came out MONTHS later on PSN than in North America. Sony have been pretty slack with that all along, sadly.
