I'm still finding it hard to believe how far phones and MP3 players have come in the past like 5 years? I remember my first MP3 player, it was huge and 128MB.

My first mobile phone was a Nokia 3510i. Its best feature? Colour screen. Now I can browse the internet on my phone whilst doing all sorts of other shit in the background, or on my iPod instead.

In a few years time are we going to have 1TB iPods?

The one thing I can't believe is that MicroSD, those tiny things no bigger than a fingernail, can store like 32GB. That's ridiculous. 32GB is like 10000 songs or 40 hours of movie.

With the scene standard for TV you could probably fit 75-80 hours of tv ! With anime you could fit much more since the bitrate doesn't need to be as high. I've listened to every song on my computer at least once, I don't really listen to music on the go though.

My first phone was some Samsung model. It had a black and white screen, the most WTF version of Snake ever devised and could store 10 text messages at a time. For the entire five years I used the phone my ringtone was a horrendous bleep-bloop rendition of 96 Quite Bitter Beings which I purchased for £3 from an advert in Kerrang. Beautiful.

My 3510i was loaded with polyphonic ringtones.

Variety. It is the spice of life.

Also because there's something strangely satisfying about being able to call up everything with a couple of clicks.

And because there's no real general purpose music. Playing some strategy games? Something slow and light. Fast paced shooter? Bring the noise. Browsing the forums? Something in between.
