Being batshit insane and annoying about something is okay when you're a kid. Some people don't get past that point and act like kids when they're all grown up, I'm not saying it's wrong or something, it's just that it gets uncomfortable to be around them.

Well you shouldn't be batshit insane or annoying.
It's not that those people should have "grown up" and stopped watching it so much as.. They should have matured enough to not be annoying and awkward pricks about it.

Yeah, but you enjoy it as a medium of entertainment. You don't live your life being all cocky about what animes are superior and worse, telling everyone that they're wrong for liking what they like because you're a otaku master or something.

I enjoy many things as forms of entertainment.......this of course includes video games.
I gave up being seriously nerdy and militant about my entertainment many years ago (although I may indulge in flame wars sometimes simply because I enjoy it).

And I was heavily into pencil & paper RPG's when I was a teenager.

Terrible sci-fi or not, it's basically what I was raised on. And I put it in primarily for background noise. With most movies, I'll stop whatever I'm doing periodically to what, but since I have just about every second of the original series memorized, hearing it is enough.

Also, I could have sworn I quoted Gare's "get better" post, but it seems I was mistaken. Thank you anyway!
