So I messaged the XBox Live Rewards people because I renewed my gold with a 12 month card on New Years Eve and never got the 200 points that's supposed to give me. They messaged me back saying that retail cards are not eligible for the points, but that they'd give me the 200 anyways. Read through their terms and conditions, and all the FAQs... nowhere does it say that the cards are not eligible. In fact, at one point it says that cards are the only thing eligible for the "First Time Renewal" bonus.
