I should really stop drinking Four Lokos, don't remember snippets of last night, and I've felt like crap all day at work...

I guess I'll just stick to drinking whiskey.

    *sigh*
It's not really worth a thread of its own, but I don't really know anything about DS carts, and we really don't have enough conversation on it to merit anything like a General Emulation thread. So...for an old fat DS, SuperCard or Acekard?

If you want to play GBA or SNES games without a separate card, get a Supercard DSTWO.

Otherwise, stick to the Acekard. The other extra features on the DSTWO aren't worth the extra cash.

Agreed. AceKard will work on your Fat, Lite, DSi and XL.

The SuperCard Two is more expensive but it's also the best one, it includes SNES and GBA emulation. I went with it when my mom got her DS XL, haven't really used it that much myself.

yeah, they re-formulated them and took all of the ginseng, taurine, and caffeine out. Still though, they're 12% alcohol (malt liquor), so they don't have a problem messing you up without that stuff.

Hm, I think they have still been banned here. Ive never had one though, I prefer the fruity foo foo drinks.

    1) Google search Acekard - find appropriate source and buy it (example)
    2) Get a good quality micro SD card, I recommend a class 6 Transcend, but there other brands are likely to work just as well - but grab a class 6 definitely (example)
    3) Google search AKAIO firmware (most recent version is 1.8, if I'm not mistaken) and follow the instructions for installation
    4) Download games, extract ROMs, put into appropriate folder/location of your choosing
    5) Play games

I can't recommend you where to purchase it there, but playing games is really easy, tipically, download them ,extract them if they are compressed and copy them to the games folder of your MicroSD card, flashcards like the Supercard Two let you play them without patching the games and have a really high compatibility even with the newer games.

The AK2i also has wonderful compatibility, and the firmware automatically overrides any anti-piracy measures. The only reason you'd need a patched ROM is if you're trying to get a super new game running before the firmware is updated to fix any issues it might have.

GBA compatibility sounds rather interesting, actually, since unlike DS games, I don't have a way to easily carry around GBA cartridges with me anymore. On the other hand, I don't really emulate GBA games all that often anymore. As far as compatibility and battery life are concerned, they're pretty similar, though? Does the onboard CPU in the SuperCard DS2 seem to affect battery life significantly?
