I know, but the shows from there are actually entertaining, Pawn Stars is amusing.

Cartoon Network used to air anime as well, but it was mostly stuff that was aired already in national TV, man, those were the days: Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura and stuff like that, I only used to watch Ed, Edd and Eddy, Cow and Chicken and Dexter's Lab.

Yeah, but by the time I had a TV of my own to use (an old Korean hand-me-down older than I am), all of that stuff was off the air. The only time I got to watch my own shows was sneaking into the family room at midnight, setting the volume ridiculously low to avoid waking anyone, and watching midnight airings of Star Trek while sitting right up against the TV just to hear it. Honestly, though, I haven't seen any TV lately that I'd be willing to do that for anymore.

I don't miss it either, but that's because it was completely butchered in an attempt to make it a boys show.

What? I liked Toonami. Sure, it was dubs, and it was only a few series, but back then, it was nice to have something for after school. As for history, the last place I'd look is the History Channel, unless the series already got a positive call-out from someone else whose opinions I know and trust.
I don't worry too much about accuracy when I'm watching a show with some guy with crazy hair tell me about how the Aztecs were flying to the moon in concrete spaceships.

You should. I mean, it was obviously the Nazca people. Why else would they have drawn out those huge sketches in the desert? Clearly, they were runway markers for their spaceport.

I just accidentally double clicked on the new posts index and it would seem I can now edit thread titles outside of my usual haunts. It's too bad I haven't a clever name for the hangout.

Or they were drawing pictures for (their) "God".

I enjoy watching those kinds of shows because they offer a different perspective. Most of the time it's a radical perspective, but a different one nonetheless.
