Play Call of Duty - World at War on veteran if you want a hard console FPS.
I'm gonna go black out for a couple hours.
And then, maybe, just maybe, I'll finally do something of note for the first time in forever.
That's not what I meant. It's easy on the PC as well. It just seemed like it was simplified for a more casual console crowd, especially when compared to System Shock. Same reason why every other game has auto HP regen these days.
I'm noticing that in most games Easy = Super easy, Normal = Easy, Hard = Normal. If you're lucky, there's a difficulty level above Hard.![]()
I remember Black being fairly challenging on the PS2, actually. Though I'm not sure whether that was the game being hard or just me sucking at it.![]()
Maybe it's just me, but I always play games on Normal. I usually attribute Hard to "really fucking hard" and never really bother. Then again, I'm a pussy.![]()
I don't care much about difficulty. Sure, I always start on Normal, but generally I just set it to the one that feels the most comfortable. If the game's too easy, I'll crank it up to Hard, but if I get too furstrated, I don't really make a big deal out of switching to Easy.
Always hard.Never switch down, it disables trophies/will only net you up to normal.

For the longest time, I would always pick Normal for my first playthrough, and then attempt Hard on a later (usually consecutive) playthrough. I would never pick Easy, ever. Though these days I find myself starting every game I play on the Hardest difficulty setting available.. which actually is rarely the hardest in the game. (As the actual hardest is only unlocked after Hard is cleared..)
Survivor, which I don't feel like restarting the game for.
Wait, I can just change the difficulty at will? Kick ass, at least they got that right.I hate games that cement the difficultly with no chance to change it during if things get too hard/easy. That's why Fallout 3 is so awesome.
I always figure starting on Normal is a safe bet. If I find it slightly difficult, then I know I'm at the right setting. If I find it too hard, then I'll just rage through it and then never try it again on anything higher than Normal. Then again, I'm not a trophy whore, so I don't really care beyond that.![]()
