Have you checked the colour of the wire? If it's definitely confirmed as BenQ, that'll take you all of 5 minutes to flash. 2 minutes if you aren't retarded.

yeah I checked thw color of the wire. I believe it's white, but it only barely shows in the little beveled area where as in the picture it's like, overflowing. Not sure if mine is scooted back, or if the wire is like, form something else that just got pulled down into view.

Speaking of flashing 360s; is it bad to update the dashboard or does it not matter? I've been toying with the idea of buying a slim and flashing my elite. I forget exactly what board it is. Falcon I think? And I think the drive is the third type besides BenQ and Liteon. Of course I could be completely wrong.

Well, everything pre new LiteOns requiring MRA-hacking, they're all equally easy.

Samsung, Hitachi, BenQ and early LiteOns (although they require the probe to extract the DVD key.)

Launch 250GB slims don't require any extra hardware to mod either, but they haven't released the method/FW to mod the drive.
