I got right into fallout 3, however now it's getting a little slow. I'm at level 15 (goes to 20 without dlc) and haven't even done the main quest stuff yet. It's the endless traveling around that really slows it down.

yeah speed travel is good. But with all the locations you have to discover on your own (think I'm around 80 so far) it can be a bitch. There's only so many radscorpions you can kill before it gets old
I love it though. Think I'm gonna just fly through it soon and finish it off.
When I first decided I was going to get a PS3, I was looking into what games were highly recommended, and pretty much everyone I knew said Fallout 3 was awesome, so I figured I might as well pick it up. Got it for $20, figured there was no harm in trying it out.
It's not a terrible game, but I find I'm not really "into" it. I'm at level 7 right now (something like that), and I don't feel that "oh my God I just have to play one more level" sensation I get when I'm really into a game.
I'll probably play it a bit more, and if I find I'm not really enjoying it I'll pick up something else. Perhaps a simple action-adventure game that doesn't require a lot of thought. Ratchet & Clank, maybe... I really enjoyed Tools of Destruction.
There were a million and a half little locations you had to discover on your own in Oblivion, too. The problem was, almost all of them were tiny little caves with a couple of goblins in them, and next to nothing of use or interest. Riding around on horseback was fun if you were tired of doing something goal oriented, but in depth exploration just wasn't worth the time.
a few of the locations in fallout are like that too. But still it's nowhere near as big as Oblivion. Most of the locales have something to do, whether it's a main quest, side quest, or free form quest like collecting certain types of items to sell.
