Ouch, that really sucks. I can't imagine how it must feel for your Dad, knowing he could drop dead at any second. I think I'd pretty much be a useless wreck in that situation.

The bad part about my family history is that my Mom was adopted. So I have no way of knowing what runs on her side of the family, aside from the crippling arthritis she has. Kinda worrisome.

He's worked in a profession with an excessively high death rate more or less since he was old enough to walk, he's had a couple close calls during said profession, and he's a useless fuck who's had self destructive tendencies for roughly the same period of time. I'm sure he's fine. Violent moodswings and self loathing aside.

Could be worse, some of us that know our family history realize "holy shit, this isn't going to end well". It's a case of whether you want the blindfold or if you prefer to see the bullet coming. Who knows, you might have hit the genetic jackpot!
