Ah, I see. That kinda sucks. It's pretty much the same deal with mine, but aside from the occasional random freeze, it plays stuff just fine.

Makes me wish Sony would make a special edition HD PS2. With it's own upscaler I mean. Would be so awesome.

Haven't tried PCSX2 but I really should. Interesting stuff.

PCSX2 is cool, except I can only get 30 FPS on both my laptop and PC.

They look cooler. My PSTwo only required a laser change (it had a factory error of it sending more voltage through the laser and killing it) , three years later and many DVD-R's on it and it still works like a charm. But I do love the look of the original PS2.

Yeah they look pretty awesome. but the PSTwo are so cute and small.

Fat PS2s are only good for HDLoader, the PStwo is the better system IMO.

Yeah I've mostly been using it to run HDLoader. As long as the ESR patching works almost as good as HDLoader I won't complain about getting a PSTwo.

ESR is great, I've yet to run into any compatibility issues.
Although my PS2 can't read my el-cheapo DVD+R DL very well.

Haven't encountered a problem at all in the whole time I have been using ESR patching. You should be okay using it.

Can i install FMCB on any PS2 model?
All consoles made before mid 2008 work with FMCB. The new Slim SCPH-9xxxxx models with a Date code of 8C and a BIOS v230 dont work with FMCB. All models after this version also will not work with FMCB.
