Seeing as there's a lot of PS2 sequels/sorta sequels to a few of the recommended PS1 games, give those a try then look for the higher numbers.

I use the PS2 wired guitars that came with Guitar Hero 1 and 2 on my PS3 using just a simple PS2-to-USB adapter. There are only 2 problems I have with them. The up and down are reversed when going through the menus, and the whammy bar doesn't work. If you can get around those two issues that don't have any major effect on the gameplay, then you'll do fine.

I also don't see Final Fantasy Tactics or Vagrant Story (PSX) mentioned anywhere, so those too.

I thought it wasn't all that compatible with a lot of things. Like watching youtube vids and stuff. I heard it sucked. Is it pretty easy to load pages, watch vids and stuff? Able to go anywhere?

It pretty much does everything but like things like Quicktime files and some AVI or WMV files. However, with the recent inclusion of DivX and such, I could be wrong.
Youtube works just fine.
