The thing is, that SA isn't fighting anybody or trying to.
They're just making fun. I'd say "Doing it for the lulz", but that's the sort of statement that gets one banned at SA.

Also, holy christ, that went awfully. Just did a base attack in Xcom, and this was the result:

6 dead soldiers, all 3 of my tanks destroyed, most everyone else left alive with serious wounds.
I had actually cornered my prey, too, as the last alien left alive- the alien commander. Had him pinned in the command center with two plasma tanks, while I tried to get a soldier with a stun baton up to them to take him down and end the mission. Just when the first soldier comes close, the motherfucking commander whips out a blaster bomb launcher, and shoots the nearest tank, killing himself, both tanks, the soldier, and destroying every piece of equipment in the room in a 20 second long chain explosion.
I hate how smart enemies in Xcom are sometimes. Fucker waited to suicide until he could cause the most damage.
