I always found Captain Morgan rum to be a decent base for a Rum & Coke. Better than regular Bundy at least. Not too bad on it's own either.

The time 3 of us shotted, in succesion, until the bottle was finished, Bundy Overproof rum. Took us 20 minutes at the most to finish it, and we were fucked. that put me off bundy forever. I can't even drink the pre-mix Ruim and Colas.

I love bacardi rum, though. Excellent with Absolut and cranberry in Cosmopolitans. (Yeah fuck you I love my cocktails)

Liking cocktails is nothing to be ashamed about. Plenty of them are awesome drinks in their own right. Just so long as you know more than Daquiris and Martinis.

I prefer dark ales and stouts, but that's as much simplicity and acohol content as anything else.
