Ahh I was just presuming that seeing as they seemed to be the exact same program besides the name I was going to get rid of one of them
I was pushing it when I thought I could get all my programs on a 10gb HDStill, I got rid of open office as I saw little point in keeping it other then to view powerpoint files, I need to find a smaller alternative that just views them.

Can't think of any open office versions though.
Also, attempt killing the non hotfixed version.

Yes. Size is very relative. Since your .net framework was probably installed when you installed visual studio, it's taking it's size. And no, you're not supposed to delete the "older" ones when you install a newer version (2.0, 3.0 and so on).
Edit: By taking it's size, I don't mean it's taking 997MB for the framework. More that the size shown is the size of Visual Studio and not really the framework per se.
