    Default Chrono Cross Help

Can't believe I'm asking for help. But here it goes.

I just copied Chrono Cross to my PC as a bin/cue file. But whenever I try and enter the Status page in the game, my game freezes. And thats the only place that it'll freeze at. I used MagicIso to copy the game, and I even ran CDimage to see if the files were bad. But everything checks out. If there's another free program that you recommend to work 100% then share it .

    Use ePSXe 1.5.2.
Config > Video > Copy Settings To Clipboard, paste here.

    I tried both 1.5.2 and 1.6.

    ePSXe 1.5.2

Lol, revert back to the old plug-in and await SegNin's advice.

Sounds like your computer's got problems if you can't get full speed on a PSX emulator...

    What's the CPU/RAM btw?

For ePSXe, the video plugin I recommend is Pete's D3D Driver 1.76

Use ePSXe 1.5.2, not 1.6.0, and enable Odd/even bit hack in Special Game fixes.

Don't forget to enable the Special Game fixes themselves too.

Went ahead and did that, and everything looks and works fine.

I got another solution just in case, but it takes downloading another emulator.

I've had this same issue with Chrono Cross lagging on status screen (playing it right now actually, and this is not the only place it will lag). I tried it on SSSPSX, and the lag was still there (by the way, it's not freezing, just lagging bad). I, then, tried it on PSX emulator, and it worked without a hitch.

Here's the link if you wanna try: http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

Download the latest version. The only thing you need to add is a Bios file.

If you get an error message saying d3dx9_26.dll is missing you can try downloading it from: http://www.toymaker.info/Games/html/d3dx_dlls.html

Don't be discouraged if the emu lags a few times on it's first runs, it fixes itself after a short while. Good luck.

In my opinion, PSX and SSSPSX is all you really need. *in before flammage*

pSX still can't play a lot of games, and it has problems emulating many other ones:
    http://psx.silvanthalas.com/ntsc-u_current.html
    http://psx.silvanthalas.com/ntsc-j_current.html
    http://psx.silvanthalas.com/pal_current.html

SSSPSX is better, but it has some bugs in it that ePSXe and PSXeven don't, and now it's been discontinued. So no more further development.

The best PSX emulators are ePSXe, PSXeven, pSX Emulator and Xebra (the last 2 for the few games the first 2 can't emulate).

Get those 4, and you're pretty much set.
