It's actually insanely funny (and I'm not kidding here).That's part of the funniness, but I think you missed a very witty pun that's in there too. You see 'bar' was said, which implies a building in which drinks are sold. But I chose to interpret it literally instead, and had the three of them walking directly into the wooden object upon which said drinks are served. Which also happens to be called a 'bar'.
