What? I'm sure skateboarders probably consider that sort of thing, art.
It is. Or it was for me, I don't remember.

it's saying her port isn't open, even though she's just using the modem, not a router

Thank god I live in a city surrounded by mountains, I mean, we rarely get tornados and stuff, only massiveWTFOMG rains, but there haven't been a tornado disaster here since 1988 and there have been bigger ones in the country but they don't get to hit us.

I feel bad for the people in the south, though.

The connection is Modem > Router > PC?

If so, I think she must set up a static IP, or something...I don't know about utorrent but in Bitcomet I had to do that to receive remote data.

Or maybe I'm mixing things up.

I always liked it when there was huge amounts of rain back when I visited my sister's old house in NJ. Their weather was like, 2x more than NYC's.

Make sure she's not using a router by making her go to the router's page. Make sure no firewall is blocking the connections, and that includes the Windows one.

tried sending her to 192.168.1.1, nothing found.

I had her check "add utorrent to windows firewall exceptions", still nothing

Scotland is pretty much the best place in the world in terms of stuff like that. We have no natural disasters, not even the floods that can sometimes sweep the south of England. Heck we don't even have any dangerous beasties. I think about the worst thing you can run across here is an adder, and I've never seen one...

Of course you have to put up with perpetually crappy weather. But you can't win 'em all.
