Default Any Online stores that still sell Windows ME?

I will be purchasing a new computer soon enough, and I've became aware that alot of games/emulators/programs don't run well on XP. I've also heard Windows 2000 works like a dream. Do you guys know any sites that would still sell Windows 2000 computers? Or will I have to have XP?

winxp is fine. it only sucks with very old games, like dos games and such.

and why do you set a topic like ' Any online stores that still sell windows ME ' (windows millenium) and ask stuff about windows 2000 and windows XP :q:

btw, don't get windows ME. windows ME ==

Default rules in to getting o/s.

Here are the basic rules I go by when talking about o/s.

    1. If you want compadability/stababilty xp, 2000, me, nt are are the o/s you want.

    2. If you want gamming speed, 98/se is the only o.s. you'll need.

    3. For an overall good choice go with xp.

I've stopped playing my tribes2/roguespear/rainbowsix games, so thats why i've opped to go xp route, it has some utilites I find useful. Also the difference I found with switching from 98 to xp was like about a 10fps difference in my tribes 2 game, which I have set to opengl. One of the main reasons is because xp runs so many resources and takes alot more ram. But one way to remedy this is by switching the shell. I haven't done any benchmarks on swaping shells to see how far up my fps goes but I can feel it when on certain maps studders stop when I switch to a small shell.

Hmm.. I think I will do personal benchmark this weekend if i'm not busy and just post what the difference is between default explorer shell and other shells I got.

    Default www.google.com is the solution

Google it and you'll find it
Honestly, I tried to did I search for "windows 2k profesionnal" and it's still damn so expensive. You better go with XP directly...

it's my opinion. However, I'll still stay with my win2k SP2 (will install my SP3 soon... without accepting the EULA

Look my furthur post on the main page soon if you are interested

2000 is not exacly for games. i mean, my friend has same comp as me, just his p4 is 300mhz slower than mine (witch is completely irrelevant),and he has 512 megs of ram less, that leaves him with 1,5gb of rambus. the only thing is different gfx card, his is radeon 9000. and w2000 on his comp doesnt want to run need for speed 5 and shitload of other games. mine does it ok, but when i had installed both 2000/XP, that games on XP runned more stable. windows me sucks.

You could just download it from kazaa, but that would kind of be considered warez. I got windows xp from it and it works like a charm.

OK, well, sorry about bumping a new topic.

I actually considered d/l XP/2000/98se off the internet, but decided not to, because I'm not even sure what the correct size is, and I don't want to bother wasting 2 years downloading everything trying to get the right file.

Anyways, thanks for the advice. I won't get XP or 2000.

I'm downloading xp right now, and I don't know what the right size is either. I just went with the biggest one...

I currently have me and it's such a shit. Don't bother with it.

You'd be surprised how many 56kers download large files. I think they start the download just for the heck of it and when they reach some 25, 30 percent they decide maybe they'll just download the rest of it.

Oh and I wouldnt be too surprised if a 56ker tried uploading an entire game to your ftp SomeUser . The lengths people go ..
