Thats what I thought. I imagined that we each made our own path. But now there are people (who claim to have scientific backing), that their sexual orientation was not their choosing. But... if thats the case, then what else don't we have control over? Do I like a Taco Bell number 6 because I was born with the genes to like it?

And I hereby copyright the phrase: "Dio Dal Genica" . Or, in English, "God from the Gene". BOOYAH!

I just translated "God from the Gene" using THIS, and I got: "Deus ex Imperator".

So until I can get a Latin major to confirm that, I'm copyrighting it.

If they have 'scientific proof', then let it be shown. As far as I'm concerned, people choose their orientation just about as much as they choose to like chocolate. If you don't like it, you don't do it. Simplistic, but it works.

Nice, it hasn't snowed in about a day, and they decided to clean the street just now. :eyeball:

Meh, genetics is just the next stage in massive scientific bullshit.

I say there's probably some level of cause and effect in terms of what genes do, but some of the things geneticists go on about are just silly (I mean really, crime genes? Gay genes? personality genes? ) Genetics can kinda give some basic idea of what a person can be, to some physical and/or mental degree, but it's hardly "your fetus has gene ATA-1C, so your kid's gonna be a gay lawyer working at a law firm in Philidelphia."

I'm actually with P_H on this.

You can't really choose to like chocolate. You eat a piece, and you either like it or you don't.

I'll give you that maybe your subconcious shooses for you, and it decides 'Hm, let's make the tastebuds reject this'

    Or something like that.

Maybe you are right, but I do know that I have been able to change what I do and do not like. I wasn't a fan of milk for a while, but now I drink it all the time. I used to hate onions, but that seems to be beginning to change as well.

Isn't the latin word for "gene" "gene"?

And you mean "Deus", not "dio". And rather than "dal", you...

    ...

    no, nevermind.

    *goes to patent this phrase*

Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong, but you weren't all 'Man, I want to eat onions, I'm going to eat them until I like them'

Also, download my fucking trance, I spent the better part of an hour on this: http://rs108l3.rapidshare.com/cgi-bi...28738394411240

That's the thing. Nothing will 'ever' make someone who doesn't like chocolate change their mind, much like you can't make a straight man fuck a gay guy. You don't choose it, that's how you are. IMO, that is.
