    RCA is a brand,
    in fact the same brand as Victor(in japan)
    and HMV-(His Masters Voice in the UK)

    somehow the cables got labeled as RCA cables.
    But only in the states and Canada it looks like.

    But than again theres PRO CRT's that have a DB-15 connection which is just a different shaped plug like a serial cable for an old computer.
