I've never used any upgrade that's required the start button (because mine didn't work until last week either, along with the volume and select buttons, I bought a new sensor strip though), so I think you'll be safe.

He may need a new sensor strip and button pad, but they aren't expensive.

    hey...
well i just bought a slim psp for $20 at eb with trade ins and i was wondering about a whole lot of stuff.

    1. ive read that i cant get custom fw on it. and ive also read that i can but id need an already customed other psp and a pandora battery. which is true? either way i cant do it

    2. if i wait long enough will it be possible that i wont need anything except my psp and memcard to get custom fw on it depending on what dark alex does?

    3. i read that pandora batteries dont unbrick psp slims

    4. also when i do get custom fw on it, its just drag and drop to my mem card and then use a loader and have a umd in the drive, correct?

    5. i have a new battery which apparently cant be made into pandora.

    6. im sounding pretty boned here should i trade it in for an old psp at the ghetto shop?

ahhhh poop... anyone living in toronto wanna help me out with some pandora battery and mem stick action so i can rock this. thanks.

poop x2 anyone have a trustable source where i can get a pandora battery and card?

Pandora's battery works for both the fat and slim psp. Some however are for just the fat version, just make sure the battery you get is for both.

    3. i read that pandora batteries dont unbrick psp slims

It's is supposed to unbrick all versions to date

    4. also when i do get custom fw on it, its just drag and drop to my mem card and then use a loader and have a umd in the drive, correct?

If you mean games, then yes. Generally, you don't need a UMD in the drive, although the odd game might require it.

    5. i have a new battery which apparently cant be made into pandora.

I think Sony has fixed the new batteries so they can't be used as Pandoras, you'll need to find an old battery for a fat psp.

    6. im sounding pretty boned here should i trade it in for an old psp at the ghetto shop?

The slim has a tv out so I'm told, the fat doesn't. The slim has a hard time playing homebrew (although things are changing) the fat is better for homebrew. The choice is yours.

    Try eBay.
I'll send you a PM for a forum that will answer all your psp questions better than I can.

ok just a IMHO this is way to cluttered like this. I would love to help but have nowhere to begin. As far as the pandora battery and magic memory stick combo I made an app that helps you do it but I am not sure if I am allowed to post a link to another forum (I am about to read the rules and will edit accordingly) But no, the process does not include the use of the start button. and someone else asked why it wasnt working on their slim, there is another step you need to take to make it work and its kinda goofy to use but can be painlessly done. bbiab with link hopefuly

{edit} OK I have read the rules (yeah I know I should have read them beforehand) So from what I have read this is ok. If not let me know I will be glad to comply and I am sure we can find another way to handle this

this is a link to my release of DEP 1.0 (Deadlysporks Easy Pandora)

You can start your own thread. Just title it something like, "Pandora program and guide"

Default Errrr! I can't get my Brave Fencer Musashi to work!!

Hello everyone, I recently DL-ed the .bin image of Brave Fencer Musashi from Emuparadise, used Popstation like i always do (made about 4 working eboots already) and when i load up the game on my cfw running psp slim it never gets to screen where i can get to play the game. I used the game ID SLUS-00726 when making the eboot.pbp file and even went so far as to shorten the folder name and put the keys.bin in the folder under ms://PSP/GAME/Musashi on my memory stick why isn't it running after the first cutscene in the beginning please help i don't have the original and want to try this game out since I liked the sequel so much. Maybe it's all that extra crap i put on the eboot like the music are the animation thumbnail. Thanks for the help in advance.

So much for 3.71-4 being his last release
    Grabbing it now

    EDIT:
Popsloader doesn't work atm, which is annoying as I only play PSX games on my PSP I'm waiting for the updated popsloader before I update.

If that feature is part of the latest official FW, I guess so.
