Okay, so Colbert is trying to mock the horse-and-pony show that is American elections. But, think about it. Who better to run this bitch than a cynic, an intellectual, and a Irish Catholic who is capable of critizing his own church?
Stephen Colbert's show makes fun of the parts of our society that deserve it. Our leaders, our life-style's, and our trends. While his show may be wrapped up in satire, the man you see in serious interviews is a world apart from a late-night comedy central spot.
Here's the man we don't see on Comedy Central:
1. He's a practicing Irish Catholic, and he teaches at Sunday School. Despite this, he isn't above critizing his own church as is obvious on the show. He's the perfect middle-ground for secular and religious Americans!
2. He's also a critic of the Bush Administration. Whilst leaning Democrat, he clearly shows that he believes in barrier's for our own, or our children's own benifit.
3. He's also a credit to men (and to a much lesser extent, women) like us here on EP forums! He's a recovering D&D addict!
My fellow Americans (and to any illegal's voting in the state of California), Vote Colbert in '08! If his names not on the ballot, you can always write it in!
