Default help with final fantasy origins

ok so i downloaded all three files, unpacked the rar, and saw that epsxe doesn't run that extension...so i figure i have to take both files(.mdf and .mds) and create an iso file to run it. I did that, but all i get is a blank black screen.

    suggestions???

Maybe change the extension to .iso? That has worked for me in the past, though I would wait for someone who knows for sure.

Download Daemon Tools 3.47 from here (it's free):
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_daemon_tools/?236

NOTE: If you get a BSOD after installation and/or an error that says "Virtual SCSI Driver not found", immediately uninstall Daemon Tools 3.47, and get the latest version instead:
    http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/down...tegory&catid=5

Just make sure you get the correct version for your OS, and be aware that the latest version comes with optional adware. The latest version also doesn't come with an Analog Audio setting, but it will still work with your PSX games.

First, install and configure Daemon Tools to create a virtual drive on your computer. After doing that you should see a small icon in your system tray that looks like a lightning bolt. Right-click on that lightning bolt, choose "Options", and make sure there's a check mark next to "Analog Audio". <--- very important

Now this time left-click the lightning bolt icon, and click where it says "Device ## No Media", then choose the .mds file by double-clicking it.

Now, for ePSXe if you haven't already installed P.E.Op.S. CDR plugin, then get it from here:
    http://www.pbernert.com/html/cdr.htm

And unzip the contents to your ePSXe plugin folder.
Now open ePSXe by double-clicking it, and click Config > Cdrom > Select P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.4 > Configure.
For Interface, if you have Win98 or WinME, then choose W9X/ME - ASPI scsi commands
For Interface, if you have Win2000 or WinXP, then choose W2K/XP - IOCTL scsi commands.
For Drive: choose Generic DVD Rom V1.0
For Read Mode: Try Auto Detection.
    Leave everything else alone.

Now you're ready to play the game.
Start ePSXe, go to File > Run CDROM.
    And your game should start.

ok the mds file is only 4kb.....the mdf file is the main file...does it make a difference?

ok i got the latest one and it gave me that error, and i tried to uninstall it, and it wouldnt let me. So, I got the other one(the first one), and followed your instructions to the letter.....still nothing.

ok btw that second link for the latest version of daemontools gave me a virus and i cant uninstall it. thanks.

Origins was ff1&2 together, correct? So if this doesn't work you can get a GBA emulator and get FF1 & FF2 Dawn of Souls (basically same thing). Or you can find the old NES version for both of them.

you probably missed something in his instructions. you tried to install 3.47 first? you only have to remove that if you get a BSOD (thats Blue Screen o' Death)(if it happens you'll know it when you see it) after installation and/or an error that says "Virtual SCSI Driver not found", only then do you try the new version

You should be able to uninstall the old version.

    Or do you have Vista?

And you shouldn't have gotten a virus from the new one, since that download link is from Daemon Tools' home page. Unless you're referring to the optional adware, which you didn't have to install.

And if you did, you should be able to remove it with little difficulty.

Well, if you have any problems or want help removing the old one and the virus/adware, then go here and ask for help:
