Final Fantasy Thread

What's your favorite final fantasy and why? If you can't decide or are too sure, list some with the reasons. If you hate one, tell us why you hate it.

I'd have to say mine would be final fantasy 9.

It has an amazing story line and the graphics are up to par for it's time. (I guess all FF's were for its time). The whole card battle idea was fun, and the flying the airship and the chocobo activities and I don't know, it was just a very fun and comfortable game to get into and love. The characters were a little goofy, but still kickass, nontheless.
Now I've only played FFX and FFXI (which doesn't count) but i'm playing FF7 and I like it alot, it just seems a little hard to get into. I don't know if it's the horrible graphics or maybe i'm just so used to ff9's system, but i'm struggling to get into it right now. I only put an hour into it, so i'm sure it'll get better, and I have to say I really like the charcters in this one, I just wish they would remake it. Advent was a sweet movie. But as of right now, i'm going with ff9.

If you want to see a remake of FF7, I'm guessing you can't get into it because of the "horrible graphics". I'll wager, too, since you've only played recent ones, that you're sorta young. But, back in the day, FF7 graphics were top notch.

I pick FF9 as well, and I'll add that the music is its best feature. The regular battle music is pretty kickass.

Well for the on-topicness, my least favorite FF is FFII. It's an ok game for it's era but the level up system completely fucks up the whole game. It's pretty darn boring trying to get some decent magic attacks... -____-

True, but you get Ozma, Hades and that weird book monster thing in the Alexandria library. Just pretend those are Weapon battles.

I played 11 for a month and died of bordem. I'm 18 and i almost bought ff7 back when it came out, but unfortuantely i had no clue what final fantasy was and got some other game, which may of been the difference of me starting ff at 7 and not 9. I just downloaded the first disc of 8 and decided to try it. I hear amazing and horrible reviews, so i'm going to try it. It got a 9.5 rating with ff7, while 9 got a 8.5 so I'm going to see for myself. =] I'm still looking into the ps2 emulator for ffx, and hopefully any other ff's that come out for it.

I played them in the order they came out; 7,8,9,10,10-2,12.

I completed them in this order: 10,7,9,8.

The graphics on FFVII are cool, only problem being when you're not in a battle the characters look a tad deformed and fat. But it's live-with-able, considering it's ~10 years old.

I enjoyed them all for different reasons (exceptions being X-2 and XII.)

I would agree with IX being the best, because it's top notch, but they all are great in their own ways. But if I had to pick my favourite out of them all it'd be VII. <3

It's be so bad ass if they remade 7-9 sometime like they had planned. Maybe on the ps3...that alone would make me buy that overpriced piece of shit.
