That means the device is USB 2.0 and your USB ports are USB 1.0 Therefore it'll work at a slower transfer speed or some shit.

Which OS do you have ?? Windows XP ?? If yes, then there is a very good chance that you don't have Service Pack 2 installed on your computer because SP2 brought support to WinXP for USB 2.0 and that is why its showing you this.

This happened to me too. All my USB devices were working at low speed even though my USB ports actually did support USB v2.0. I installed SP2 and everything started working just fine

Ok, so what OS do you have? Doesn't matter if your up to date, hell that could be the issue. And while your at it, give this guide a run though and clean out your PC

click the thingy that pops up and then just click ok on the box.....

it should continue to install the hardware after that.

    that usually works for me.

    in theory it could...

windows xp already comes with the drivers however... so it should already exist on your computer

maybes its a usb 2.0 only device and your ports are 1.0 / 1.1?

It might be that. Do you have Service Pack 2 installed? Also, have you tried logging in as administrator? (the account, not just the privileges). It might be a borked account since your having so many problems, at the welcome screen, hit ctrl+alt+del twice, and type in "administrator" with no password, unless you set one. If you did set one and don't remember what it was, let me know and I'll PM you a way to reset it

well ok. frist off thanks for all the help and 2nd i know its not a 2.0 only device casue i'am useing it right now on another pc, so i'm good there

    "in theory it could...

ok see your right here thing is windows cant detect it to install the driver, but yet it will still detect it and tell me its a 2.0 device, so i think taking a copy of the driver from a different pc and puting it in the same place on the other pc is my best bet, not sure if it will work but we will see.

"Do you have Service Pack 2 installed?"
I do, one of the thing i thought of on my own.

I'll have to ty the administrator thing tomorow when i can man hands back on the computer, i'll fill you in then.

It could also just be a flatout borked installation of windows, you may need to just install a fresh copy =( but that's always a last resort. Are you sure you plugged into a USB 1.1 port on the other PC though?

So did logging in as administrator work? Because if no, and everything above didn't, I wouldn't know what else to do other than to use the cureall (reinstall windows), since you have absolutely no way of installing/controlling hardware
