They're making an advance sequel? DS? Also, what about that Lion wars thing.. was that a PSP game? Or, wait, was that the remake with Balthier? Uh..
Michael Ballack, he scores free-kicks.
He's got black hair, and he's german.
Michael Ballack, trains in paddocks.
in his spare time, HE FARMS HADDOCKS!
Watch me play Super C, guys!!
God forbid you should ever make a first post with details as to what you're actually rambling about. :eyeball:
So, what's your point, then? What about it don't you like? Say something that's worth clicking your thread. Kthnx.
Oh wait, I forgot:
Release Date:
US: TBA
Japan: October 25, 2007
lol sorry didn't have a lot of time to spew endlessly
I LOVED PSX FFT
Most awesome tactics game EVER imho
FFTA for GBA.....well.....it was a pure farce and laugh in the general direction of the FF series.
There's a FFT A2 for DS coming soonish to the states probably early next year since it hits japan in mid october. I didn't care for it much, I mean sure it had some races from the more MODERN FF series but really....It's...it's just too toonish for my tastes.
As for The War of the Lions on PSP it's just a rehash of FFT on PSX.
FFT A2 - http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/data/937330.html
FFT: The War of the Lions - http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/psp/data/937312.html
Now if they made a sequel to FFT (The War of the Lions on PSP) I'd get that so fast!
btw the PSP games new classes are Dark Knight and Holy Knight (Think Gafgarion and Agrias)
So, you're dissing a game that isn't out yet? Fair enough. As for the rest, well, I won't argue your opinions, since it's kind of pointless.![]()
well its a sequel to the GBA game that played like the red headed stepchild of Final Fantasy Tactics PSX and Legend of Mana PSX![]()
So I gotta ask whether or not your concerns about FFTA2 are born from the opinion that the first game sucks, or because it wasn't an aesthetic carbon-copy of the PSX FFT game. And if the former is the answer, then could you tell us why you hold that opinion?
I've only ever played the GBA FFT briefly, but while it skewed a little younger, it seemed to feature the fantastic gameplay of the PSX version. And hell, the story wasn't all that bad really, if not as epic and convoluted as that of the PSX Tactics game.
I'm just not feeling you here, so if you could explain, that would definitely help us figure out where you're coming from.![]()
Actually, I rather disliked the law system of FFTA, and it will have a bit less of an impact on the sequel, from appearances. But if you are expecting it to be as 'gritty' as the original, I doubt that you will receive your wish.
As for me, I will probably purchase it after a price drop or two. I don't hold high expectations.
I quite liked the law system of FFTA. Sure, it was a bit annoying at first, especially when all all bosses are above the law, but I think it added a little bit more strategy to the game, especially when that ability to use law cards was introduced. And personally, I'm more of a fan of more light-hearted stories anyway.
I honestly never got into the original game that much, probably because I was too young to understand it or care at the time, but I've been going back, playing games that I didn't give a chance before or never finished, and I'm liking it now.
It didn't really add any strategy as much as it detracted from it, in my eyes. Judicious use of cards meant that an enemy could do bugger-all to stop you without breaking at least one law (instant-win), and that dreaded "Attack monster" or whatever it was drove me absolutely nutty in random battles where all you were fighting was monsters. It was a bit too powerful for good or ill, basically, the same complaint levelled against FF8's Junction system one-upped.
The story wasn't so bad, but light or dark, it wasn't much. As it is, I suppose.
FFTA is one of the only GBA games I still own, the other being Advance Wars 2.![]()
I like FFTA. Not as good as FFT on the playstation, but only because it was 2d and you couldn't rotate the maps.
As I was walking down the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish, I wish he'd go away.
I miss the Full 3D and all the FX and Orchestrated music
The characters that had depth and yeah the Grit too lol
The regular FF series games are still as gritty if not more so now than they were back during FF 1 2 3 4
Like I said while having the extra races such as the moogles was fun it got a bit childish to me and seemed like they had lost the dramatic flair that brought FFT to life.
You won't be getting any of that on a handheld console...
PSP lol![]()
Yeah, it's pretty clear that he was referring to the handheld console that we're discussing here.
Basically though, when it boils down to it, it seems as if your disliking of FFTA has a whole lot to do with your opinion that it's not 'adult' enough. Meh.
Oh hey, did you play Tactics Ogre at all back in the day?
