Well, you know, I think both of these systems are pretty sad and overpriced, esp. the PSP. But that's just how I see it for what I would want in a portable game. The PSP, yes like said, it is too flashy, and a battery killer. But on the other hand, the DS looks like a watery piece of crap, pardon the language. It feels (and looks graphics-wise) like a N64, only worse. No antialiasing and stuff like that, if there is some it's software so who cares (slower). And the multiplay feature. How often do you think the average user is going to get to play with someone? I mean, except in cases where some friends get together and each plan on buying a lot of these things and playing, I doubt much would happen. But I guess there's a big market for this sort of thing now. I just thought portables were just something to kill some time while you're on the go and have to wait around for some reason. That's really all I want. I'd probably still be playing the old gameboy if there was no Advance.
The graphics on portables always suck compared to consoles anyways. Heck, even consoles tend to suck graphically compared to the highest PC games of any given time. Sure, the consoles I think used to have the edge in gameplay and fun over PCs, like back in the SNES days, even a little into the consoles after that. But nowadays, graphics is all anyone ever cares about; and trendy RPGs and RPG-like graphic fests that are almost good cures for insomnia (boring).
But anyways, back to handhelds. I'll stick with the GBA.
