As somebody that prettymuch only buys physical, I'd say yes.

Maybe there are some exceptions to that, idk, maybe somebody else has details.
Basically yeah, that's their thing. That hit up digital game developers and offer to toss out a physical version that wouldn't have otherwise gotten a release because the developers are too small. There are some minor exceptions, as some bigger developers have tossed them titles, I kinda dislike their "distributed games". Also they've taken to "reprinting" some obsolete games like SegaCD games and lame NES repro's.

It's usually a bad idea to count on Bestbuy coming through. Usually the preorder window will close up before they can confirm if Bestbuy is indeed picking the title up. What you should do is set a reminder on your phone, telling you to pick it up on the 27th. Then check the product page on LRG, if they say right there in the product details that Bestbuy has ordered the game, then you can wait for Bestbuy. If Bestbuy hasn't locked it down, just get it from LRG. Also do not wait till the end of the day on the 28th, mid-morning on that last day they'll cap the order number to an even thousand, and let it sellout at some random time.

From what I know the releases are numbered. People collect that stuff so stock vanishes quickly. Then you have people reselling at inflated prices.
These aren't traditional "rare" or "hard to find" games, the business model is designed that way.
Scott Pilgrim here will be worth money. Every single major game released by LRG has exploded in price. If it's a game you actually want, just preordering it is the best way to buy it. Worst case, if you have serious purchase regret, you can flip the game on Craigslist at cost.
