Jazz, those are great advice. I had no idea about the drop/add period. And as a former modder I can assure you I understand the importance of self study and personal projects pretty well. I have to get a degree one way or another, so I'll just have to choose one, either way I'll try to focus on my own projects as well.
Every school has a lot of extra help such as audit, advisors and drop/add periods that people either don't know about or just don't use. Looking back, I wish I talked to my advisors more often. I would probably have changed my major to EE instead of competing IT.
