You mean laptops in general or those ones are known for dying out of the box?

Both. I wasn't aware those were known for dying OOB until afterwards. The downside of living in a small town is that you really can't do research before picking stuff up since the nearest PC shop is almost 3 hours away.

She asked me to help her decide on one. We had looked into a good one for her, and were attempting to find it. We even were on the brink of getting that. At the last minute she pretty much bought one blind. I attempted to talk her out of it and pointed out her poor experience with that brand previously. But she still went for it.
