The amount of glitches in Halo 2 is unbelieveable though. You can have fun with it just sword cancelling and shooting up the walls.

Halo 1 and 2 are some of the only FPS games that I actually like. I didn't like Halo 2 at first, but then once I got used to all the cool new shit I loved it.

I think people exagerate the need for a faster CPU. The CPU is not very often the bottleneck in a system, hell, just lately we started needing Pentium 4 2Ghz or so CPU required to play a game.
As for 3D rendering, more RAM and a stronger CPU over a faster video card.
The Core 2 Duo is plenty fine, and I would suggest it over the Athlon X2 unless you're going "budget".

There was a few seconds of silence whilst conversing, and out of the blue I was like "If you didn't have a boyfriend I'd be all over you like a powerful moss".

Her boyfriend left about a half hour prior. We made out for the better part of an hour.
