Default FFVII .img in OS X

Hi, I just downloaded the first disc of FFVII, and the .rar files decompressed into a .img file in my OS X 10.3 OS. I also downloaded the most recent version of Flarestorm, but I am unable to use the .img. I've tried opening it with Flarestorm, but Flarestorm simply doesn't recognize it to open (i.e. it's grayed out in the "Open" window) - I've tried renaming the extension to .iso as well, but no luck. I then attempted to burn the .img to a CD-RW using Disk Utility in OS X, but was told that the file was too large to fit on a disc (712 MB). I have also tried simply mounting the .img, once again using Disk Utility, but no luck - I get an error that's something like "No mountable file systems".
Am I doing something wrong? Should I redownload the file? Any help would be so very appreciated - I really would like to play this game again

    Thanks much.

Was there a cue file included with the img file?

Have you tried this same program with other ISOs? If you have and it worked I would re-download the iso. If the other ISOs did not work I would try to find a different program.

First, yes, there was a .cue file included with the .img file, along with a .sub file and .ccd. Second, no, this is the first ISO I've tried with it - I suppose testing another would be in order, unless anyone else has any more ideas? Thanks a lot!

Thats what I would do. Its easy to do. Just find a psx game and make an iso yourself.

Is there anyone here who's had any experience with Flarestorm and OS X? I've just been trying to figure it out, and there's no included documentation for the emulator, and very little to none available on the internet...

    hi!
i never got flarestorm to run any isos.
i always ended up burning the games to cd and playing them from cd...
if you still want to try go the plug-in config and make sure you checked
    the cdimage.fsplugin.

the bunch of files you got after unrarring is the way clonecd makes isos, i think.

    as for the burning problem...
i would highly recommend to get toast 6 or firestarter.
the build burn-prog from osx wont allow you to put more than 660 mb on a
700 mb disc (this is a long known problem to apple! but they didnt come up with anything so far...)
try using one of those progs and a 800 mb disc.
you should be able to burn discs of larger size now.

oh and also try pcsx. i doesnt support img files only cd-emulation, but runs
a lot more games. you need a psx-bios though the prog is able to emulate
the bios, it doesnt run well at all in this mode.

good sites for mac emulation are
http://mac-psx.hansr.net/ (for pcsx and flarestorm with list of working games)
http://emulation.victoly.com/index.html (general emulating site for osx)
2nd with links to probably every available emulator for mac...

Thanks for the tips - I'm gonna try another ISO now, see what happens, but I'll probably just end up putting them on CD. Thanks again.
