Soul Caliber 2, Guilty Gear X2 and Marvel vs Capcom 2 are the best fighting games I have ever played.![]()
the mortal kombat series , had the coolest chars to me , and has my favourite fighting char , sub zero ^^
i used to like mk games alot. i always looked forward to beatin the game with all the characters to learn more about their background and future.
Super Smash Bros. is the past, because I've recently tried a PSX game called Bushido Blade. That's a great game. It's a bit different from other fighting games, because it's not mainly about "fight until the enemy falls"... no, a little bit tactics and foresight. Like REAL swordfighting. Some of you must've seen japanese films or animes that had "normal" swordfighting scenes. Bushido Blade is the same. No HP-gauge, no combo meter, no nothing. Only you, your katana, and the enemy. Only one hit can be lethal. And of course, you must follow the "code of the samurai" (or what they call it), so you must fight honestly. No backstabbing, no tricking, no hitting the enemy on the ground. Fantastic, almost 100% realistic game. Yeah.
I still play Street Fighter 2 from time to time... it might not be the bestest ever, but it's certainly the most influential.... of the new ones MK Deception is a kickass game...
Got bored of Soul Calibur 2, the controls seem all messed up after you play DoA Ultimate for a couple hours.
Couldn't get a grip on what to with Guilty Gear X, after 2 days I gave it back to the store.
Only 2-d fighter I like is the Marvel vs X-Men.
I used to own King of Fighters (The new 3-d one) but I gave it away in exchange for Blood Rayne 2 now I want that fighting game back but can't find it anywhere anymore. This sucks.
As long as you got the power and the pad, you'll get the womens.
Listen to the Mission
yea i like bishido blade too it's very realistic.
Marvel vs Capcom 2, its fun doing those big hit combos hehe
It was for a year or so. Killer Instinct was the best arcade fighting game, but for the consoles, Id say Street Fighter beats all.
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike is an awesome fighting game. That and the likes of Marvel vs. Capcom, Soul Calibur, and Guilty Gear X all make the DC king of the fighters.
Soul Calibur on Dreamcast (3D)
and the "vs." series - MvC, XMvST, etc (2D)
Smash Brothers (the original) is still pretty fun too . . .
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Great game, fluid animation, and, oh yeah... http://media.shoryuken.com/srk-daigo.zip
Guilty Gear XX
This is the best fighter I have ever played, and I have played a lot of fighters. Before I say anything else, let me say that GGXX #Reload is better, more balanced, etc. However, I do not have that, so I will just talk about GGXX. This is a great game, that takes tons of skill and memorisations of timing (some combos require you input next move at certain frames, espescially when using Roman or False Roman cancels). Has a combo system that tones down damage. You need to decide if you want to use tension (super bar) for cancels or Overdrives (hyper/super/etc). Usually combos do more than overdrives, but take more skill. This game has the best graphics in any fighting game, uses high res sprites, and has fluid animation. The music is metal and hard rock, which for me is a huge plus. If you have a PS2, get Guilty Gear XX if you can find it, it is , in my opinion, the best fighting game ever. If you have an Xbox, get Guilty Gear XX #Reload instead.
My third favorite is Capcom vs SNK 2. It is not nearly as balanced as SF3:TS or GGXX, but it is fun. You have 6 different grooves (I disable EX grooves in options) that change how you play. You can choose a custom combo groove, a samurai showdown groove, the advanced and extra groove from KOF '99 Dream match, and others. Any character is decent with any groove, but really shine in certain grooves. For example, because custom combo mode lets you pull of charge moves without charging, Vega, Bison, Kim Kaphwan, and others really shine.
super mario smash bros owns all! ahah
If you are talking about DOA 2: Hard core... i am so with you... The red hed (Kasumi i think been a while since i played) In that skirt... oh the memories. I used to play it with my friend all the time he said i was cheap for using reversals and i was like.. if it was cheap they wouldnt put it in the game. *sigh* sore losers.Originally Posted by Sprung
