Default Can't see to find a workable Megaman Legends ISO for PSX

I'm trying to get a Megaman Legends ISO however the ones I download I can't seem to get to work. The problems I have are either:

-They don't have the .ecm file (The one from this site just didn't have it. It had a ccd file, img, and another that I forget)
-One had a bin file, but I didn't have to convert it from an ecm file, and when I ran it, it glitched up when it got past the Capcom logo

Is there a location that just has Megaman Legends with the typical ecm file to convert and it works? Or is there a way that I can use the one from this site, and I just have to use something different for it to work? I'm using PCSX btw, and I've got a few other games working for it.

An ECM file is just a form of compression and is not needed for emulation (actually it's pretty useless and annoying to get ECM compressed files IMO)

A bin or img file is what you want so you have that. Anything else as in running the game is now just a matter of adjusting the settings for the emulator.

Have a look at the PSX Datacenter for optimum settings http://ns348841.ip-91-121-109.eu/psx...sc-u_list.html and use epsxe.

Ah ok. One of the MM Legends I downloaded, did have an img. file and I tried to run it but it glitched up after the Capcom logo.

So I should use the epsxe emulator instead? Where is a good place to download it and do you know if it's usable on a mac? Thanks for the help.

If you want the best experience running the Megaman Legends/Tron Bonne games then use Retroarch, it uses the Mednafen PSX core and that is the most accurate Playstation emulator, it has very little game incompatibility , all games iv ran run and look exactly as they would on a real playstation.

Grab the file titled latest_RetroArch_full off of the libretro site, BTW its a tad non user friendly so it will take a little bit of adjusting , not that hard though.

I tried redownloading PCSXR and that got MML passed the capcom logo, but now it's stuck at the now loading screen. Ridiculous. -___-

But ok I'll try Retroarch, hopefully it works for mac. Thanks.

It works on mac, don't use the stable release, use the nightly builds they they have more features.

It looks like your options are pretty limited on Mac, but it's very easy to make a bootable USB Flash Drive with windows 8 if you have a 16GB Flash Drive. You would want windows 8 for this since it's optimized to work with a USB 3.0, where windows Vista/XP will only work with USB 2.0 making them much slower. You probably want to have a second Flash Drive with your emulators and games

@Warrior-Hmmmm what does that mean exactly? I did download it, though I couldn't find the one specifically you mentioned. The file I download was called RetroArch OSX10.6-x86-v1.0.0.2.zip. And I downloaded and was able to open it, but it said like I need to load in cores or something? No clue what to do there lol.

@Skullpoker-I mean I got PCSX, and have 3 fine working games. This is the first game to give me some trouble. But that is an option, I didn't know I could do that.

You need to update/download the cores inside Retroarch, open Retroarch and go to core updater and get the emulator cores you want to use, mednafen psx is the main one you want but there are many more .

Ok so I tried finding the core updater and can't find something that specifically says that. I was watching a guide online, and I noticed that the guide had A LOT more features that I didn't have. So I found the area of the website with nightly builds, and a I did find the mednafen psx. However I can't find the file called latest_RetroArch_full. I'm even looking in the section entitled "latest". Could it have been renamed or moved somewhere else?

You will get more out of your system with a Windows USB than you would with a virtual pc. Keep in mind if you decide to use it that you need to have a valid Windows installation number with xp/vista/7, and I think you don't need it or only need to enter it once with Windows 8.

And now I shall leave you to your other helpers. Good luck.

Well somehow someway, I got both Legends and Legends 2 to work. I used PCXR, and Legends 2 worked instantly. I figured I'd try Legends 1 one more time, and it worked! I guess it's just kinda finnicky or something.

So it seems that the only thing PCSXR that's worse than PCSX, is that it doesn't read bins. But if a game is an img or iso, it works totally fine.

But thanks guys. If thing start going south, or I'm running out of space, I'll definitely consider Retroarch and using a flash drive for Windows 8.
