Have you ever watched Midori by chance? Not even close in story to the above VN you posted. Still a very difficult to watch anime with some pretty twisted parts in it. It even tricks you into believing it will end on a good note. Until the very end that is.![]()

I'm not really into VNs, but that sounds perfect for me!
Stuff like that is especially enjoyable when you've gone a couple days without sleep; gives you the added paranoia of, "is this really happening, or am I losing it?"
So far, Metal Gear Solid 2 has been the best at making me do reality checks, especially when the Colonel spouts a bunch of nonsense and then tells you you've been playing too long and need to go to sleep.
I hear Despiria for Dreamcast is a good mindraper too.
