C'mon, otaku girls are extremely common. Anime is very much mainstream these days. I personally steer clear of them, just not into the whole "neko is kawaii desu yaoi is hawt!!11" sort of people...

That's a lot of questions. I was a language student focusing on English as a foreign langauge and English-speaking countries/culture. Honestly I'll take any job that focuses on foreign language communication and/or translation. I got an interview next week for some weird foreign affairs related organization, I'm not entirely sure what to expect (I'm not into politics that much...) but I figured I might as well try.

Elin didn't mention anything about her being an otaku.

Also, I might be an otaku, but at the same time I'm really not. I really hate the term, honestly, and want to distance myself from all the "creepy basement dweller" stereotypes. I might go all HNNNNG after looking at some catgirl or something similar, but I'm... I dunno, I'm not crazy about it. It's just an interest, it's not my entire life.

I don't even watch anime that much, actually. Gaming will always be my #1 passion.

Okay, I've decided. I need to visit you somehow. And apply "European accent" to Japanese girls. It's super effective!

Hmm, I once found a job teaching English, but they payed very little and expected me to spend 3 months being an intern there after which they may or may not hire me. It just wasn't worth it. I can't find a job here, many "jobs" pay so little that the costs of "working" outrun what you earn, meaning you earn more by not having a job.

I'm trying to get out of here now, I hope if I can set foot in a first world country I could get into game development business. Computer engineering will do too I guess. But game development.

My mistake, I thought you were responding to her comment about her otaku friend.

South Africa doesn't air much anime, the only anime I've ever seen was Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Pokémon, Shinzo, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, and Naruto (original).

I prefer playing video games and modding Cave Story though.

    ...

Which reminds me, playing the remake of La-Mulana is harder than I thought...

    Yeah.
I uploaded several of the avatars I drew prior to 17 May into an album (link, for the curious) so I'll probably just use those avatars.

Or maybe make more in the future. Or just use my current one until the end of time. Who knows.

Doesn't matter, I'll learn Japanese. I already know Hiragana and Katakana, so I'm sure I can learn all Kanji in a week.

btw what's dentist in Japanese? I know doctor is sensei...

Good thing I'm not qualified to teach Engilsh. Also because it's just not the job for me I think. I would do it if there were no other options, though.

Yeah, I was thinking of going to Japan myself, when my Japanese is good enough. Or something.
