you can tell by sudden extreme weight loss, yellowing of the eyes and skin, no eating or drinking, and if they pee it will be pure black.

That's what my dog did when he was dying...But he didn't go search for a place to die...He died right next to my dad...He was laying his head own on my dad's lap, and just slipped away... :'(

Mom doesn't really have the money to do that, so we have to go with the worse alternative, but it would still be better than living with the pain of a dying body.

She doesn't seem to be doing well, she will lay with me before bed for a while, but will sneak away once I'm asleep.

Spose: It might be something more complex, but it could easily just be a urinary tract infection. Our cat had one and exhibited very similar symptoms (being unable to pee, seeking solitude). It's a simple operation to fix it, but it gets deadly very, very quickly if you don't. Apparently had we left it another day without going to the vet, our cat probably wouldn't have made it. So get her to the vet right away!

It's probably been to long by now, she's been like this for a while. And it doesn't seem like we will be able to get her to a vet.

I should also add she's been having a hard time walking and eyes glossing over.

she's had a tumor or calcium deposit on her breast for a while also, almost 2 years now.

She's 14, i don't see her living much longer, even if she gets over this.

My folks had a male cat years ago that had to be put down.
Blocked urinary tract.
It can happen with females too, and I'm pretty sure it's dry food that's the main cause

14 is pretty reasonable for a cat though...and if she has any little benign tumours then that's not so strange (same deal with dogs when they get old).
