Or I was talking about Wikipedia, which was mentioned in the sentence directly prior, which is popularly known as only vaguely credible due to its open source nature. You can feel more then welcome to take it as a personal attack though, if that's what you enjoy.

It wouldn't be a SquareSoft discussion if there wasn't somebody pulling the 'True Scotsman' and throwing out their leet knowledge on something. Truly it's an apples and oranges retort since any game with a similar title thread is usually a sequel. It just doesn't mean it's a direct sequel (For example, FF1-69).

I'm honestly not even sure what you're trying to imply. I merely clarified since the person took offense, but welcomed them to continue taking offense if that's what makes them happy.

As for my initial response: I was merely pointing out that on more then one occasion the lead of the game has said in public, published interviews that the game was meant as a sequel, or even the remake of a sequel. It contains characters from the original game. Not even in a cameo sense, but as integral parts to the plot, and the same antagonist.

I mean this is completely ignoring the part where if you played the PSX rerelease of Chrono Trigger and watched the ending anime thing, it even shows Lucca picking up an infant Kid.

It doesn't mean that Chrono Cross is a DIRECT sequel to Chrono Trigger, anyway I felt that I didn't clarify my point well enough, and I am sorry for being a douche, can we set this aside, and be on somewhat friendly terms? (crappy attempt at humour)
