Right on. Wal-Mart Spidey? heh heh...

I have been Leatherface, random barbarians/fantasy characters, Vultan (Flash Gordon), zombies, sea creature/swamp monster, etc..etc...etc...

We have pictures around here somewhere from when I was Leatherface...several of us worked on that costume. I used the $90 Nu-Skin mask, a wig from GoodWill, lots of paint/make-up, and a real chainsaw...at the time I was working for a fish monger, so I just grabbed a 'heavily stained' apron...was a really great set-up..

    No 'judging' man....nope.

I have always wanted to hit a convention/event/party as Ox King...

At my height and frame, (nearly 6'7", 350 lbs.) I would obviously look pretty damned foolish if I were to go as certain characters, heh... (Spidey, Luke, Bart Simpson, Wonder-Woman - LOL)

I know that I could pull-off a GREAT Hagrid, and my wife has begged me to for years, but I'm just not a fan of that property, so...

DL - You ought to give it a go...it can be great fun and a great stress resolver. Back in the 90s, a group of my buddies went to a sci-fi con dressed as several of the Z-Warriors...they won some sort of contest, and a great time was had...
    (cosplay + booze ?)

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it
It has never been important really. Same for many people I grew up with over here (and people older than me too).

When I was a kid (and before fireworks were banned here) we would get together with friends for Guy Fawkes Night (aka Bonfire Night).
And it's not as if I grew up in an environment without birthday parties or Christmas/New Year/Easter celebrations

The last interaction I had with someone over the pond was a dude that wanted Mt. Dew and Lucky Charm cereal..heh...apparently they are not readily available in the UK - ? I got a bunch of Game Gear and MegaDrive games for some sweeties...

"Years ago", eh? you must be closer to my age than most of the populace here...

    LOL!

NOT true, though; I met my wife on-line, and as far as 'friends', I have done business with people around the globe because of the internet.

Sadly, I find the net contains mostly pornography, hatred, and trolls (90%)....but the GOOD aspects keep me hanging around, I suppose...

    I'm in Australia, actually
That's reason I'm about 14 hours (or whatever) ahead of you.

    I'm definitely not the oldest here......only 39.

Yeah, Guy Fawkes Night is an English thing.
Did you use the vegemite as dip for the musk sticks?

    Nothing like vegemite though.
Great on toast, and a great addition to a cheese sandwich
